Eggs-finally, I think that says it all.

   This season did not start off with a bang but with a whisper off hope that just one of the pairs would bred. Then panic began to set in when absolutely nothing was going on and the abnormal weather patterns certainly didn’t help. Then our girl Jezzy took, ovulated, and laid 28 big white fluffy eggs, not bad for a first time mother. With our first clutch in the incubator and Jezzy back on rabbits (that took a whole day) we breathed a momentary sign of relief. Now it’s time to turn our attention to the rest of our girls and get things moving.
 
   Sam and I have been busy this last year. I went back to work full time in August and along with his job Sam has dedicated himself one hundred percent to staying on top of and fighting the proposed legislation we are facing. With these drastic changes in our lives we have had to readjust and adapt to the demands of everyday life along with caring for and raising our amazing Burmese Pythons. Our balance got a little out of whack for awhile but things have smoothed out and we focus on each others strengths to keep going.

  Sam and I have always been committed to producing healthy quality burms but in the past couple of years we have realized that as burm owners and breeders it is also our responsibility to help educate and inform about the care and responsible keeping of these amazing animals. We as big snake keepers know the snakes are not what most media outlets portray them to be but are our pets; members of our families. We almost always take a burm to reptile shows and the look on a child’s face (or even an adults) when they hold a 12 foot burm for the first time is overwhelming.
 

  You can almost see all the misconceptions fade away as X, our big albino green male we retired this year, crawls through their hair or nuzzles their neck. Keep the snakes safely and responsibly and they can give back more than you ever imagined.
